bonnet monkey

• مصطلح عامي بريطاني قديم يُطلق على الميكانيكي، ولا سيما من يعمل على محركات السيارات تحت غطاء المحرك. صار المصطلح مهجورًا إلى حد كبير ونادر الاستعمال في الإنجليزية المعاصرة.

An old British slang term for a mechanic, particularly one who works on car engines under the bonnet (hood). The term is now largely outdated and rarely used in modern English.
